Violent Midnight Break-Ins on Brockway Avenue

Jun 13, 2018 2:56:32 PM / by Savannah Ashworth

Last night at midnight, two men broke into the apartment of a female resident living at 261 Brockway Avenue, only 1.2 miles away from Defense In Depth.  When police arrived at the scene, they found that the two men had...

"...assaulted her while attempting to take items of her personal property from the apartment. The victim reported that she was able get away from the attackers and call 911. The victim had visible signs of a physical assault and was treated at the scene."

One of the two men then broke into another nearby apartment shortly before police arrived.

It is important not to sensationalize stories like this, but it is also important to recognize that bad things happen.  Even in the relatively safe community of Morgantown and its surrounding areas. This situation could have been much worse, especially if the perpetrators had intentions other than burglary.

We're going to be bringing more local stories like this to your attention in the near future.  This is not to frighten you, but to point out that it's worth asking ourselves:

Am I prepared for a worst case scenario?

If the answer to that question is "no", come see us.
